There is a whole industry out there to help you make your pet’s daily life more sustainable, but one of the easiest ways is to start with what you already have.
Have a dog that loves to destroy fabrics? Tie together some old rags you’d normally toss, to let them rip up, without ruining your favorite towels
Build your cat a castle out of old shoe boxes or cardboard packaging
Recycle shredded paper to use at the bottom of cages
When taking your dog for a walk, make it more eco-friendly by picking up trash you find along the way
Cook your own dog and cat food or treats, many can be made using leftovers you might normally toss
Not yet a dog mom and In the market for a new friend? Adopt, don’t shop. Check out your local shelters.
Live somewhere where you can’t permanently house a pet? Or currently in the “don’t get the pet if you can’t afford the vet” phase? Shelters are always looking for volunteers, from walking dogs to playing with cats.
Happy adventures with your favorite furry friends!
