Back in March, Giving Tuesday announced May 5 as a national call for citizens to engage in the act generosity by donating and supporting local nonprofits and organizations in response to COVID-19. According to their website "[t]he day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world." Throughout this pandemic, companies and private individuals have donated millions of dollars to organizations fighting COVID-19 to provide everything from personal protection equipment to paying rent for citizens in need.
For Comfy Carepacks, this pandemic has had a severe impact on our ability to participate in local distribution events and host fundraising events. In February, we had an amazing fundraiser where supporters painted portraits of the furry friend, drank local craft beer, and had a great time with like-minded individuals. As a result of COVID-19, Comfy Carepacks is limited to how we can fundraise with the current "Stay at Home" order. Not to mention, with the rising costs of supplies and long delivery dates, creating and distributing packs has be difficult. As an organization where 100% of our donations go to carepacks, we are in need of funds to help us sustain our mission in these trying times.
Whether you can donate money, pet food, or time, we would like to ask all our supporters to answer the call on May 5 by giving what you can. We understand funds may be tight for some of you, but every little bit helps. If financial donations are not an option, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and share our posts.
