My Day (from a dog's perspective)

Well, it looks like daylight is shining through the window, so it must be time to wake up, but I don’t hear my hooman mom moving about. She must be working from home today, which means I can sleep in a little longer too…

.

I will just lay here and plan my busy day, or maybe just “dream” about it. When I smell the coffee, I know I can get up, stretch and head out for the treats… Oh yesss, it’s going to be a good day...

Oh boy, I hear movement, water running (sounds like the shower), tick tock…. Hurry up mom...

Oh boy, the smell of coffee, and right on time?? Off I go, because I know the puppy eyes gets her every time….

Hmmm, today, is something new… taste like chicken and liver, but hey, I’m a dog so I’ll take it…

Looks like she’s heading to “her spot”. I want to yell, “be careful with that hot coffee”, but she wouldn’t hear me anyway… oh well, guess I'll lay down...

Click, click, click on the keyboard (she can’t call me annoying…hehe). Ringing...talking.. is she talking to me or into that funny looking device in her hand...

She’s not looking my way and she’s not repeating herself so she must not be talking to me. Time to hop to the back of the sofa, which is my favorite spot. I can see everything from up here. If she makes a move, I’ll know it..

Oooh...she’s on the move, must be time for another treat… oh boy…yippee!

Time to walk around to make sure everything is in order. I take my security job very seriously. No one comes or goes without me knowing about it...

Except when I almost slept through the door opening and closing… Just my hooman family moving about. Hey..,guard duty 24/7 is a tough job, but I’m up for it…14 years and only 2 close calls...

Job benefits are good..my meals are free, so are uniforms but I can do without the jammies tho’...

Water, treats and the occasional breaks (car rides) where I can hang my head out of the window and feel the breeze, so what if a little slobber runs off my face, it’ll dry & the groomer will work for her pay...

Lunchtime!!!

I think I’ll tap a little afternoon siesta, you know what happens when you eat too much…hehe

Oh boy, how long did I sleep, more clicking... I think my hooman mom needs a break. I’ll just go stand by the door. Will she get the hint... time to stretch my legs..

Oh, the sun is out and I didn’t bring my doggie shades...I hope the neighborhood female dogs don't recognize me...they can be so annoying sometimes....

Oh boy, who knew we would walk so far. Thanks mom, now I’m thirsty, hot AND tired. I think I set myself up...

Finally home...back to my post (you remember, back of the sofa) while mom finishes up for the day, then she’s all mine for the rest of the evening...belly rubs, treats, playing with toys...

Oh my... was I snoring.. Guess I'll sit in the window and watch the hoomans scurry by...

Woof woof.. I’m not as mean as I look, not to mention I am on the other side of the glass. Woof, woof.. oooh the sound effects on the glass... Hahahaha, if they only knew...

Well, time sure flies when you’re sitting in the window. Time for dinner.. Is my stomach growling... Of course, it’s no steak dinner but it does smell delicious...

Well, one more walk outside before it gets too dark... Did I mention that I’m an inside, daylight kinda’ of security guard dog...

Hey mom, we don’t have to go too far this time... I need to save some energy for my late night run... up and down the bedside stairs... you know, just to make you crazy and all.. You know that’s how we bond right...

Mom: “Okay Bailey, time to cut out the shenanigans, and go to bed. Tomorrow’s a new day, and if you’re lucky, I might stay and work from home again!"

YIPPEE...YAWN...SNORE....
